Colour development

I have produced many repeat layouts. I have been adding colour to them and thinking about ways in which they would be printed and developed. I printed on a variety of materials and papers and have also scanned them I photoshop to look at the digitally printed side of development.

Layout love

Here's one of my finished repeat layouts which I am very fond of. It's early days but I think this will definetly be one of my final prints.

Repeat layouts

Today Iv started to play around with repeat. I am using my drawings to create exciting, flowing designs for wallpaper. I have been using simple block repeats and half drop repeats. I will later think more about colour, I will experiment with that by painting out my designs.

Interior observational drawings

I'll soon be moving on to development in interiors producing a range of repeats from my drawings. Above are some observational drawings from my sketchbook that you'll soon see in some of my repeat patterns and maybe even finals. All drawings are observed from my own photographs taken at Artis Zoo, Amsterdam.

Lots of love

In the small amount of spare time I have away from uni and work I put love and passion into a gift for my grandma. I wanted to give her something special to keep. Since I was little I knew she had a love for birds, she was the person who taught me to love drawing and art. She is always drawing, crafting and making. I took a quick line drawing I produced and repeated it in photoshop and then had painted back into it. I am really pleased with how it looks in the box frame and can also proudly say my grandma loves it and it sits pride of place in her living room at home. I have had loads of positive feedback, so producing prints is something I am thinking about for the future.

Whimsical zoo life / interior

I have recently started a new project for interior design. I have took inspiration from my visit to Ansterdam and the zoo I went to whilst there. My concept is based around zoo animals and their surroundings. I aim to create a whimsical, pretty design that puts the zoo animals back into surroundings they feel more comfortable in and that is more like their natural habitat. I will be studying the animals from my photographs and will also be sourcing foliage to sweep and climb around the animal print. My designs will be repeated for wallpaper.

Artis zoo, Amsterdam

Whilst in Amsterdam I visited the most amazing zoo. These are only a few of the photographs I taken whilst there. All the animals were beautiful, there is not one animal I can say they did not have at the zoo. Well worth a visit if you are ever in Amsterdam!
